N8 AgriFood Annual Conference
21 May 2019
The 2019 event will be held in York on October 22 and 23, with the theme - Celebrating N8 AgriFood: Creating Solutions for a Sustainable Food System.
Our 4th Annual N8 AgriFood Conference is hosted this year by York, Newcastle and Leeds at the Principal Hotel in York. Over the two day event we would like to share with you what we have been contributing to the challenges facing the food system and provide a platform for further debate and discussion about the solutions we can all contribute to.
Our conference will showcase the crucial relationships, collaborations and innovative ideas needed to tackle the challenge of developing a sustainable food system. Through a mixture of keynote speeches, plenary sessions and focussed parallel sessions, we will provide vital opportunities for you to engage in the debate and interact with stakeholders from across the whole agri-food sector. Our aim is to highlight interdisciplinary thinking and strategies that capture impact and influence on the whole food system. The conference will address important and topical issues such as the global impact of the UK food system, health and nutrition along food supply chains, how can we produce and eat a sustainable diet, the impact of new technologies and how policy and regulation can drive sustainable food systems.
On Monday 21 October there will be an exclusive Pre-event: Commercialising your research, hosted by BioVale – you can register for this free of charge. This is an excellent opportunity to understand how to enter the market, whether it’s selling a service, licensing a technology or developing a spin-out.
During the conference, you will have plenty of opportunity to network with others. Join us in the event marquee where all of our exhibitors will be based and where at the end of day 1 we will hold a poster session during a drinks reception, which will provide additional time to network and access to the excellent research from across our programme. We would also be delighted if you would join us at our conference dinner on the evening of the 22 October at the iconic National Railway Museum in Station Hall, where you can explore vehicles spanning a century of railway history.
Poster/abstract submissions are now being accepted with a deadline of the September 5.
We will be happy to cover reasonable travel and accommodation costs for any researchers from The University of Manchester wishing to attend the conference if they have submitted a poster/abstract - Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
